Your Golf Hero

When I was 9 years old, my parents bought me a set of kid’s clubs and I was hooked. I started competing shortly after, and that was the beginning of my love affair with golf. When I look back on my golf journey, I remember watching golf on TV faithfully cheering for my favorite players. These players are my golf heroes. I recall having one main golf hero as a kid. He wasn't Tiger or Phil. He was Brad Faxon. If you are a new golfer, his name might sound familiar because he is now a Fox Sports Golf Analyst. Back in the day, he was the most amazing putter I had ever seen. I wanted to be able to putt like that so I practiced on my bedroom carpet every night. Every time he played I cheered! I was a true fan!  He made me love golf and he made me want to get better.

If you are a golfer, odds are that you have a golf hero too. Someone you cheer for, inspires you, and makes you want to be a better golfer. Last week I asked you who your golf hero is. The results are in for the Fit Golfer Girl’s community golf heroes! Here are the leaderboards for both Men and Women!
